DRG recognized for support of National Guard and Reserve

The Edmond Sun, Edmond, Oklahoma

EDMOND — Delaware Resource Group has been awarded the U.S. Department of Defense distinguished 2011 “Above and Beyond” award presented by the Employee Support of the Guard and Reserve. This is the second time the company has received the award since the company was founded in 2002. The company received the award in 2008 for the first time.

The company also was honored recently at an ESGR banquet in Oklahoma City as a semi-finalist for the 2011 Secretary of Defense’s Freedom Award.

The prestigious Above and Beyond award is in recognition of the company’s extraordinary support of and dedication to employees who serve in the National Guard and Reserve. The company currently has about 40 employees serving in the National Guard and Reserve.

“We are greatly honored to be able to employ many guard and reserve personnel and remain committed to them when they are deployed by providing benefits beyond what is required,” said Phil G. Busey, founder and CEO of Delaware Resource Group and the Busey Group of Companies. “It is just one way we say thanks for the commitment to serve all of us in defending freedom.”

As an employer, the company continues to pay any lost wages to individuals for 10 working days a year, promote individuals while on active duty, grant raises while employees are on active duty, and allow workers to accrue vacation, personal and sick time. DRG also offers an employee assistance program that provides counseling services to employees and their families. DRG continues to pay medical, dental, vision and all ancillary benefits while the employee is on active duty.

DRG is an Oklahoma City-based defense contractor with 32 locations.
